MaxToMYOB installation instructions

 

 

Overview

 

Thank you for selecting MaxToMYOB.

 

If you are using MaxToMYOB on a trial basis, you will be able to use the program 30 times. After this time it is illegal to use the program without registering the product and the application won’t save your data. In trial mode you will only able to access the MYOB Clearwater database.

 

When you purchase MaxToMYOB we supply you with a token that allows you to unlock the Trial Mode and use all the features of MaxToMYOB. Each token is only valid for one computer and can only be used once. When you start MaxToMYOB, the ‘Register your software’ screen will appear. If you have a valid token click on the ‘I have a Taken’ button. You will be taken to a web page that will generate your unlock code.

 

Please note that the software is registered per PC and it is an offence to copy or distribute the software.

 

 

Installing MaxToMYOB

 

If you don’t have an install CD

  • Download the file named “MaxToMYOBInstallFiles.exe” by clicking here. This file is a self extracting zip file that contains all the files necessary to install MaxToMYOB.

 

  • Double click the file “MaxToMYOBInstallFiles.exe” to open it. You will be prompted to extract the files to c:\install\MaxToMYOB. You can change where the files are extracted to but please note the new location for later reference.

 

1.    Open Windows Explorer and browse the MaxToMYOB CD or the folder you extracted the install files to (c:\install\ MaxToMYOB)

2.    Double click on the file “Setup.exe”. The installation program will begin. Accept all the installation defaults and the program will be installed in c:\Program Files\MaxToMYOB.

3.    Browse to the c:\Program Files\MaxToMYOB folder and Open MaxToMYOB User Guide.doc. Follow the instructions to configure Maximizer and MaxToMYOB.

 

Rapid.CRM provide 30 minutes telephone or email support for your first MaxToMYOB installation and additional support is provided at $130.00 (ex GST) per hour or part thereof so please read and follow the instructions in the User Guide carefully.

 

 

To start MaxToMYOB, Browse to c:\Program Files\MaxToMYOB and double click MaxToMYOB.exe.

 

 

We recommend that you add an Icon to Maximizer’s Toolbar that points to c:\Program Files\MaxToMYOB\MaxToMYOB.exe so that MaxToMYOB is simple to start.

Refer to Maximizer’s User Manual for instructions on how to add an Icon to your Maximizer Toolbar.

Click on the following link and select Open or Run. The program will edit your registry and add an icon to your Maximizer Toolbar.

Installing and configuring MYOB ODBC.

 

Step 1. Download latest ODBC driver software.

 

 

MaxToMYOB requires a MYOB ODBC-DSN to be created. If your MYOB ODBC driver is unregistered, you can only communicate with the Clearwater MYOB database.

 

The integration between Maximizer and MYOB relies on the installation and configuration of the MYOB ODBC driver. Once installed, the driver needs to be enabled and if you have purchased MaxToMYOB, this feature is available to you at no cost (normally $259.00).

 

You can’t register your MYOB ODBC driver if you are using MaxToMYON in Trial mode so you will only able to access the MYOB Clearwater database. You still need to install the driver and create a MYOB DSN as follows.

 

 

MYOB currently provide several versions of their ODBC driver and the choice of which driver to use is as follows:

 

Premier 4 and below are not compatible

Accounting 10 and below are not compatible

Premier 11 and above, Accounting 17 and above, and Enterprise 5 and above install the MYOB ODBC driver when MYOB is installed so you shouldn’t need to download or install the driver.

 

Step 2. Install Driver

 

 

·         Browse to where you downloaded the file and extract the contents of the file.

·         Browse to where you extracted the files and run setup.exe. Accept all defaults.

 

Step 3. Configure the driver

 

 
  • Open the Windows Control Panel and open Data Sources (ODBC). On Windows 2000 and XP, Data Sources is located under Administrative Tools.
  • Click on the System DSN tab.
  • Click on Add
  • Click on MYOB ODBC (if there are multiple versions, select the latest)
  • Provide a Name and description that relats to the MYOB datafile you will access.
  • Browse to and select Clearwtr.dat if you want to use MaxToMYOB in Trial mode or the MYOB Datafile that you want to link Maximizer with if you have a registered version of MaxToMYOB.
  • Enter a valid MYOB User Name and Password (the one you use to access your other MYOB datafiles.
  • Click OK.
